Riverside Sounds Kicks Off in May

Roswell’s Riverside Sounds concert series will kick off on Saturday, May 5 with "Little Tybee," an orchestral pop band.

These free monthly outdoor concerts are held at Roswell Riverside Park, 575 Riverside Road, May through  October from 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Guests are invited to bring blankets and coolers. A shuttle service will be offered this year to transport attendees to the park from the Ace Sand lot on Riverside Drive.

This year’s line-up includes:

May 5:  Little Tybee - A mini orchestral pop music band with string arrangements and artful southern charm engaged in intricate musicianship. June 2:  Sol Junky - High-energy performances with music representing a unique mix of cross-fusion with instruments including the banjo, mandolin, flute and even beer kegs. July 7:  Yacht Rock Revue - Playful band that pays tribute to the smooth hits of the late '70s including Michael McDonald, Hall & Oates,

Take Me Out To The Ball Game (To See Yacht Rock Revue ...

On Monday May 30th, Atlanta-area natives can possibly do both–if you go to see our good ol’ Braves play the San Diego Padres.

Once the Memorial Day game has been played, stay back (brews in hand) for the Yacht Rock Revue Concert . Now most of us in our single 30-40s may be familiar with the 70s genre of rock (which is a little more soft around the edges ). If not, names like Hall & Oates, Steely Dan, Kenny Loggins and more should be recognizable!

If we’ve went too far back in memory lane, sticking around to catch the concert is definitely a recommendation. The concert is full of acts and sets–not just tributes to the lone era. The Yacht Rock group is one of the best cover bands of this type.

Buy a ticket to the game and enjoy the concert for free!

If can’t make it into the city, feel free to enjoy the game on MLB TV or on broadcast in the Southwinds clubhouse !
