Ads to show Mississippi Gulf Coast experiences

OCEAN SPRINGS, Mississippi -- A "family" of four hopped into two kayaks Friday afternoon at Gulf Coast Research Laboratory, and headed off into Davis Bayou.
The scene looked like a great coast experience unfolding, except the family members were actors, and they were being towed behind a powerboat, which had a photographer and movie cameraman aboard.
The Davis Bayou kayaking scene is one of several planned on the coast during a four-day shoot for a series of television, print and Internet advertisements called "Trip Ticket," developed for the Gulf Coast Regional Tourism Partnership.
John McFarland, chairman of the board of Gulf Coast Regional Tourism Partnership , said the shoots, which started Thursday, are part of a $4 million campaign that will begin in April.
"What we are trying to do is much different than anything that has been done before," he said. "Most of the advertising that has been done for the Mississippi Coast has been pretty much isolated between Mobile, Hattiesburg and New Orleans, because there really hasn‚t been money to do more than that."
