Wooden Shellback Dinghy (Natick) $1695 | Natick

The Shellback is a modern classic designed by legendary US boat builder Joel White. Many consider it the perfect all-round dinghy because it rows, sails, and tows beautifully. Shellbacks are remarkably light for their capacity, making them easy to pull up on a beach, put on the roof of a car, or load onto the bed of a pickup truck. The boat is light enough to be carried easily by two adults. Sail area is modest; rigging is quick and easy as there is only one sail to manage, making this boat well suited to new sailors. Experienced sailors will appreciate its speed and responsiveness. This dinghy also makes a superb tender for a larger yacht. At just over 11 feet, the uncluttered interior makes cleaning and maintenance a breeze.

Boat has Mahogany seats, rudder and daggerboard. Hand-stitched Sperry sail. Sitka spruce spars.

This 2004 dinghy was only used a few times and has been in storage ever since.

You could pay as much as $6000 for a New Shellback dinghy. You...
